Each day, so many electronic devices like mp3 players, computers, cell phones, tablets and radios are thrown away. I’m talking about in the thousands per day here.
These electronic devices that get thrown out just get thrown into the local landfills ,taking up much needed space. Instead of piling up in the landfills, your electronic devices could rather be recycled at any recycling site.
One of the largest electronic disposals are computers. A very tiny percentage of people actually recycle computer parts.
If you look at a computer alone, you know that it is composed of many different parts. It has a motherboard, the central processing unit. Most of the metals used to make computers are uncommon and hard to mine from the planet. Being able to save these minerals by recycling them would be using them to create more goods such as more computers or cell phones with minerals that already exist instead of finding more materials which is done through dangerous mining. If you had to start recycling electronic devices, you would make a really nice profit. If you want to start recycling electronics, just be aware that the way electronics get recycled is different with every site. This is how it would normally happen:
- The recyclers will take apart your computer or electronic device and gather all of the parts that can be reused.
- They will work through the different parts and separate the different metals so that they can be sold to the relevant people, who will then melt down the metals making them ready to be sold again. Once bought , they will be used in many different ways for different new products.
- If you are worried about any of your old details still being on the computer that you are selling to be recycled ,do not fret, the metal all gets shredded so no one will be able to access anything of yours that was once on that device.
